그럼 시작합니다.
Scene #1 Michelle과 하룻밤을 보낸 Judy.
Michelle : You’re talking in your sleep.
(잠꼬대하네요.)

Scene #2 Steve의 차가 발견되었다는 걸 알려주는 Ben.
Ben : At least he wasn’t in that car.
My family is clinging to that.
(Steve가 적어도 그 차 안에는 없었네요.
우리 가족은 거기에 희망을 걸고 있어요.)
Jen : Anyone would, sure.
(누구라도 그럴거에요, 물론이죠.)

Ben : Anyway I don’t mean to bail on you..
(어쨌든 약속을 어길 생각은 아니었는데..)
Jen : I’m sure looking for condos is not the first thing on your mind right now.
(지금 당신이 집 구하러 다니는게 먼저가 아니라는거 알아요.)

Scene #3 Steve를 위한 철야 기도회를 준비해 주는 Jen과 Judy.
Jen : It just came out of my mouth, ok?
(그냥 말이 튀어나왔어. 알겠어?)
I couldn’t shove it back in there.
(다시 집어 담을 수 없잖아.)
* 어떻게 철야 기도회를 준비해야 하는지 하나도 모르는 Ben을 위해
Jen이 대신 준비해 주겠다고 말해버립니다.
* 나도 모르게 말이 입 밖으로 나왔다고.
You promised me that you wouldn’t say anything about our secret meeting.
Why would you do that?
- So sorry. It just came out of my mouth.
Judy : I can’t face her.
(그 어머니랑 마주할 수 없어.)
* 대면해야죠
You should face Amy.
현실을 직시, 직면해야 하구요

Jen : All we have to do is show up.
(지금 우리가 해야할 것은 거기에 나타나는거야.)
Hand out some candles and show the community we didn’t do it.
(초들을 나눠주고 사람들한테 우리가 하지 않았다는 것을 보여줘야 해.)

Scene #4 철야 기도회에 간 두사람.
Ben : God, he’s always had the worst taste in friends.
(맙소사, Steve는 항상 사귀는 친구들 취향이 아주 최악이에요.)

(여자들 취향은 좋은데.)
*껄렁껄렁한 Steve의 친구들이 “뭐 어디선가 짠하고 나타나겠지”하며
와서 술만 마시고 돌아다니네요.
* 취향이 고상하네요, 일가견이 있네요

* Steve에게 사귀는 여자가 있었어요.
뭐 Judy도 그땐 Nick 만나고 있었으니까요.
어쨌든 그 여자는 지금 임신중입니다.
* 임산부에게 물어보는 말이죠. 요건 요대사 그대로.
Judy : Try to stay positive, okay?
(긍정적인 맘을 갖도로 해봐요. 알겠죠?)
* 어딘가 살아있을거다. 희망을 가져봐라. 좋은 생각을 해라..
울고 있는 Steve 여친에게 Judy가 해주는 말입니다.
이렇게 말하는 상황도, 말해주는 대상도 참 아이러니 합니다.
* 요즘 같은 판데믹 상황에 해드리고 싶은 말이라 뽑아 봤어요.
요즘 제가 받는 이메일에 자주 보이는 말이기도 합니다.

Judy : I told Michelle I’m not gonna hang out with her anymore.

Detective Perez : Do you? Because from what I’ve seen,
you always seem to be everywhere you shouldn’t be.
